9/11

Today marks the 8th year since the tragedy that happened in New York City. I can still remember being woken up by my step-father to come down and witness the tragedy that took place on this day 8 years ago. At that time I was working third shift at the Steak-n-Shake on South Campbell and I didn't really appreciate being woken up like that but later after I had gotten some more sleep and was fully able to dwell on the events that had transpired I was very glad to be an American. I felt proud for the men and women that risked their lives to help others during the aftermath of what had happened. I am also proud that my sister proudly served in the Navy at that time and was deployed several times into the middle east in retaliation to what had happened. I don't think I will ever forget what happened that fateful day so many years ago, and I am still very proud to be an American. I will never stop being proud of being an American and I know there are many more people like me in this country. United we stand forever strong, divided we fall broken. I feel very strongly that this country will always stand united against whatever may rise up against us and attempt to tear us down.We have been and always will be one nation under God no matter what the rest of the world may throw our way.
